Hemarroids

Hemorrhoids are enlarged or varicose veins which cause itching and pain around the anus and rectum. They are caused by straining when defecating, lifting or natural weakness in the veins of the anus and rectum.

There are two types of hemorrhoids, depending on the location of the affected blood vessels. Internal ones are covered with mucus and external ones that are covered with modified anal skin. Hemorrhoids can be extremely painful when hit by blood clots or become thrombosed. Symptoms of hemorrhoids are pain, fresh blood on toilet tissue, itching and discharge. Treatments include blood vessel shrinking creams and may even include surgery. Hospital stays are brief, but using a proper diet, bulk laxatives and drinking at least 8 glasses of water daily will go far in decreasing this disease’s recurrence.
